Enphase fault guides

Plain answers to the fault codes and alerts we see most often on solar systems, with what our own monitoring and service records show.

  • Enphase gateway: not reporting — what it means and what to do

The Enphase cloud has stopped receiving data from your IQ Gateway. That usually points to a connection problem between the gateway and your internet rather than panels that have stopped working. It is not urgent, but it is worth fixing so monitoring and alerts work. Start by checking your router and the gateway's network light.

  • Enphase IQ Battery: low charge — what it means and what to do

Your Enphase IQ Battery has a low state of charge. During a power outage the battery shuts down at its configured shutdown level to conserve energy, and it restarts when solar power is available or the grid returns. This is not a fault by itself. Reduce the load, wait for solar or grid power, and check the Enphase App.

  • Enphase microinverters: grid frequency out of range — what to do

The Enphase microinverters saw the utility grid frequency outside the range they accept, so production pauses. This usually comes from the grid rather than from your equipment, and it is not an emergency. Check the app, wait for the grid to settle, and get it looked at if it keeps coming back.

  • Enphase microinverters: grid voltage out of range — what to do

The Enphase microinverters saw the utility grid voltage outside the range they accept, so production pauses. This usually comes from the grid rather than from your equipment, and it is not an emergency. Check the app, wait for the grid to settle, and get it looked at if it keeps coming back.

  • Enphase system: low production — what it means and what to do

Your Enphase system is producing less than expected. Shade, weather, or a problem with some panels or microinverters can all cause this. It is not urgent. Check the app for which devices are affected and look for obvious shade or snow, then ask for a diagnosis if it persists.

  • Enphase system: no production — what it means and what to do

Your Enphase system reported that it is not producing power. Causes range from a tripped breaker or grid problem to a microinverter or communication fault. Check the app and the gateway lights, confirm the solar breaker is on, and call for service if it does not recover.
