Generac PV Link Offline: what it means and what to do
A PV Link that shows "Offline" on its PWRcell inverter device page has talked to the inverter before but has lost that connection. Generac lists the causes as the PV Link DC disconnect being opened, the PV Link's communication channel (PLM channel) no longer matching the inverter, or damage to the REbus wiring. While offline, that PV Link's solar panels do not deliver power.

- The PV Link DC disconnect was switched off, for example during roof or electrical work.
- The PV Link's PLM communication channel no longer matches the inverter.
- REbus wiring (+, - or ground) between the PV Link and inverter is damaged or loose.
- A blown REbus fuse at the inverter.
Safe steps to try
- Note which PV Links are offline On the inverter control panel, scroll through the device pages and write down which PV Links show Offline and when it started. Photos of the screen help your dealer.
- Think about recent work Roof work, pest guards, re-roofing or electrical work near the array can open a disconnect or damage wiring. Tell your service provider about it.
- Leave the equipment closed The DC disconnects, fuses and REbus wiring are technician checks. Do not open the inverter or go on the roof.
When to call a professional
Contact your installer or a Generac Independent Authorized Service Dealer (IASD). If several or all PV Links are offline at once, the cause is often shared wiring or fuses at the inverter, which a technician needs to test.
