SunPower fault guides
Plain answers to the fault codes and alerts we see most often on solar systems, with what our own monitoring and service records show.
- SunPower Internet Communication Down: what it means and what to do
"Internet Communication Down" (ICD) means your SunPower monitoring device, the PV Supervisor (PVS5 or PVS6), is not reaching the internet over your home Wi-Fi, ethernet or cellular backup. The app (mySunPower, now SunStrong Connect) stops updating. SunStrong notes the panels may still be producing; only the monitoring data is missing.
- SunPower panel orange or red in app: what it means and what to do
In the panel view of the mySunPower (SunStrong Connect) app, an orange panel has stopped communicating with the PVS monitoring device, and a red panel has stopped producing power. Grey means a temporary loss of production or communication and is normal. SunPower's guidance is to allow 48 hours for grey panels and to contact your installer for orange or red ones.
- SunPower SunVault manual reset required: what it means and what to do
If your SunVault battery stops powering your home during an outage, the mySunPower app may show a popup saying a manual reset is required. SunPower says this usually happens when home loads exceed SunVault's maximum power level while it is running in backup. The reset needs large appliances turned off first and the system connected to the internet.
